Can couples therapy help us?
It’s not unusual for people to have problems in their relationships. But if you’re frustrated because you keep getting stuck in the same arguments, or if you feel disconnected in other ways, couples therapy can help. You can learn how to improve communication, have tough conversations and create a stronger, more fulfilling relationship.
As an experienced therapist I specialize in working with couples who are struggling to make things better. I help people learn specific tools that change the way they communicate so they can have tough conversations that don’t end in fights or icy silence. I help people learn how to repair breaks in their relationships. I help people shift long-standing patterns that have kept them stuck. I help people connect again.
The work isn’t easy. It can feel scary. It takes strength and determination to shift old patterns into new ones. And if you’re motivated to change what you have now into something much better, couples therapy may be for you.
I offer 90-minute and 2-hour sessions as well as half-day intensives.
Intensives can help you get to core issues quickly. We don’t rehash fights or painful history. You’ll learn new ways of talking to each other, new ways of listening to each other without feeling attacked or shutting down. Couples leave with a customized notebook full of practical information and all the skills we cover so you can refer back to them any time.

I’m so glad we found you.
My wife and I started seeing Jane when we were in the midst of a separation and dealing with issues of communication and infidelity. We each found a safe place to address our concerns, and she gave us the tools to work through issues between sessions. Though nothing about couples counseling is ever “easy,” we felt we were making progress with every visit and Jane was an advocate for us both throughout that process, never picking sides and always making sure each was heard. I would highly recommend her.
Jane has been a tremendous help to my husband and me. We have been married for almost 30 years, and she helped us improve our communication skills to the point that we’ve tackled some very long-standing disputes. I previously thought the challenges were best chalked up to personality traits/flaws, but she helped us see that we can really listen to and empathize with the other person without having to agree with them. That small twist in thinking has been a game changer for us. I’m hopeful for our future.

About Me
I’ve worked with individuals and couples for almost 30 years. Helping people as they wrestle with problems in their lives and relationships is one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done. I’ve been part of an ongoing training and mentoring group for decades with the Couples Institute in Menlo Park, California. I work with couples of all kinds. In addition to intensives, I offer more traditional couples therapy as well as individual sessions. My office is in downtown Billings — a comfortable, light-filled, and private space.
